Wave Wireless selects Comba Telecom as partner to install first public safety communications system to comply with nation’s strictest fire codes

Washington D.C. government swiftly approves Wave Wireless’ network design and deployment of Comba Telecom’s in-building public safety BDA 

 

(6 August 2018 – Washington, DC and Milpitas, CA) – Wave Wireless, an innovative and leading wireless network company, has partnered with Comba Telecom, Inc. (Subsidiary of Comba Telecom Systems Holdings LTD.), a leading global wireless solutions provider, to successfully commission the first in-building public safety communication system in Washington D.C. under the recently updated fire code regulations, which are widely considered as the most stringent public safety code requirements in the nation.

“Washington D.C. has one of the strictest ERRCS codes in the Nation By using Wave’s best practices in design and deployment, we were able to ensure the system passed. We have been working closely with the city government and Comba to ensure our clients and building owner’s get their Certificate of Occupancy (CO) on time for their brand new facilities, which has led Wave Wireless to be a leader in delivering above and beyond for the commercial real estate industry.” said Matthew DiMarco, Director of Operations at Wave Wireless.

 

“We are delighted to be the first public safety communications system to be approved and deployed in the D.C. area under the new fire codes imposed.” said Steven Cheng, Comba’s Public Safety Product Manager. “We worked closely with Wave Wireless through all the necessary processes for system approval and testing to satisfy OUC’s questions regarding the system design and network compliance.”    

 

The public safety communication system approved by the OUC was installed at The District Wharf using Comba Telecom’s CriticalPoint™ 700/800MHz BDA. The inspection was conducted at a commercial use building utilizing all 29 channels of Washington D.C.’s emergency responder frequencies. The system was built to provide adequate coverage in a brand new Class A office building located on the expansive waterfront development project.
